Assessing safely and correctly
The new service regulation ZDv 20/6 "Regulations on the Assessment of Soldiers in the German Armed Forces" came into force in January 2007. Compared to the previous appraisal system, this results in fundamental changes.
Superiors must be fully aware of these new regulations in order to correctly assess the suitability and performance of the person being evaluated. But also every soldier should inform himself/herself before an evaluation, in order to know about his/her possibilities and rights and to be able to estimate the meaning of evaluations for him/herself personally.
The guidebook clearly presents the new guidelines and explains step by step how to prepare and write appraisals, such as:
What is the goal and significance of appraisals?
Who is appraised when and in what form?
What are the principles of appraisal?
How should appraisals be prepared?
Are there possibilities for participation and legal protection?
What does the appraisal mean for my career?
With working aids, examples and practical tips.
