In 1970, in cooperation with the Dutch company Nedelandsche Wapen en Munitfabriet N.V., Eickhorn developed the KCB model for the American Stoner assault rifle, which was used primarily by U.S. Navy SEALS during the Vietnam War. The design of the blade and the wire cutters largely corresponded to the Russian Kalashnikov bayonet. Eickhorn adapted the fiberglass-reinforced plastic handle to the assault rifle's handguard. The Armed Forces of Ireland and Australia carried the KCB77M1 for the Steyr AUG assault rifle as an official piece of equipment in their stocks for many years. In a limited and numbered edition of 999 pieces worldwide, the globally proven KCB77M1 now says goodbye to the Solingen Eickhorn production. The blade is made of break-resistant 55Si7 spring steel (HRC 51-53) and is coated with Kalgard. The included plastic sheath secures the knife from loss even without the handle loop closed.
