Beschreibung
silente" is derived from "Sicuit nox Silentes", the motto of the Nucleo Operativo Centrale di Sicurezza, the anti-terrorist unit of the Italian State Police. The Extrema Ratio Silente combat knife was presented to the unit, the authority, the Minister of the Interior and the Chief of the State Police during the 40th anniversary ceremony of the N.O.C.S..
The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC. The blade impresses with a thickness of 6.3 mm. It has a flat grind, a gouge on both sides and a miscut on the back of the blade. The blade esits a black burnished blade according to Mil Spec MIL-C-13924
The unique handle is made of two parts and also functions as the handle of a pair of pliers attached to the end of the handle. The pliers has a wire cutting element can be used to cut wire fencing, wire rods, steel cables, etc. It can also be used as a glass breaker thanks to the carbide insert attached to the end.
The MOLLE compatible knife sheath is injection molded from impact resistant nylon. The secondary safety system is reversible for ambidextrous users. The blade slides into the sheath thanks to its tapered shape, which lends itself to quick blade insertion and extraction. To pull out the blade, just press the trigger, releasing the blade. In the horizontal slots of the sheath there is a system that fixes the blade to avoid rattling noises. The back of the nylon sheath is MOLLE compatible.
