Many users now also use the foregrip as a barricade stop to stabilise the platform against cover. If you move around a lot in confined spaces (CQB) or operate from vehicles, choose a compact foregrip. Longer versions tend to get caught easily in plate carriers or chest rigs.

For static surveillance tasks or securing positions at a distance, however, a bipod is the method of choice. It provides a stable support surface that prevents fatigue over long periods. When choosing one, ensure that the bipod locks into place securely and has adjustable leg lengths to immediately compensate for uneven terrain. A service-grade bipod can also be folded away completely silently and does not take up unnecessary space when transported in the folded position.

Securely attach the scope mount and rifle sling attachment

Even the highest-quality optics are of no use if the sight mount gives way under vibration or the zero point shifts. When mounting sights on the Picatinny rail , the sole focus is on absolute repeatability and stability. For critical components such as the scope mount , always use the exact torque specified by the manufacturer and additionally secure the screws with medium-strength threadlocker. If you need maximum flexibility in the field, a Quick-Detach (QD) scope mount is advisable. This allows you to quickly detach the system in the event of a failure of the main sight and switch to the iron sights.

One component that is often underestimated in practice is the rifle sling attachment. It must reliably support the entire weight of the system and must not come loose, even during sudden movements or when rappelling. QD (Quick Detach) eyelets for the rifle sling attachment have proven particularly effective here, as they allow you to completely detach the sling from your kit in a matter of seconds in an emergency. Position the rifle sling attachment so that the system lies close and flat against your body without restricting your freedom of movement when switching quickly to secondary equipment.

A focus on materials for tactical accessories

When choosing tactical accessories , you are usually faced with the choice between light alloy and high-strength plastic. Both materials have their specific strengths for attachments and should be combined according to the specific application.

Aerospace-grade aluminium (e.g. 6061-T6, 7075-T6) is extremely torsionally rigid and heat-resistant. It is ideal for load-bearing components that require absolute positional stability, such as a scope mount or a robust bipod. The downside is that it is slightly heavier than polymer and cools down very rapidly in extremely cold temperatures.

Glass-fibre-reinforced polymer, on the other hand, is very light, extremely impact-resistant and does not conduct heat or cold. This makes this plastic the ideal material for a front grip or covers. However, it is less suitable for components that need to withstand precise mechanical stresses.
