The Manta M2 BC is a "rubber-like", flexible, heat-resistant polymer cap that protects the muzzles of an M2 or M2A1 barrel. The caps are universal and conform to the shape of the muzzle. They can be attached to the threaded end or the muzzle end of the barrel. The caps prevent damage to the threads and prevent dirt and debris from entering the barrel. The heat resistant material allows caps to be installed even when the barrel is hot
