Safety goggles accessories from Recon Company – interchangeable lenses, prescription adaptors and protective cases for tactical optics

Tactical safety glasses are only as versatile as their accessories. Anyone moving between sunlight, partial shade and artificial light needs interchangeable lenses that can be fitted in seconds. Anyone with a visual impairment needs an RX clip-on adapter – no contact lenses in the field. We stock safety glasses accessories from Oakley, SwissEye, Bollé and Hazard 4, selected according to the same criteria we’ve applied for over 30 years in our procurement projects for public authorities : system compatibility, repeatability when changing lenses, reliability under pressure.

Interchangeable lenses – the right tint for every lighting condition

No single lens can cover all operating conditions. This is not a design flaw – it is the logic behind modular systems. Interchangeable lenses for safety glasses from Oakley (M-Frame 3.0, SI Laser Tronic), SwissEye Raptor and Bollé X1000 allow for quick lens changes depending on light conditions and the task at hand:

• Smoke / Tinted: Sunlight, open terrain, high UV levels – reduces glare without colour distortion
• Clear: Indoor areas, night-time driving, low light – full transparency whilst providing ballistic protection
• Orange / Yellow: twilight, diffuse light, fog – enhances contrast, makes contours appear sharper
• Persimmon / VR28: Oakley-specific tint for changing light conditions, tried and tested particularly at shooting ranges

When purchasing interchangeable lenses , please note: check compatibility with the exact eyewear model. SwissEye Raptor lenses do not fit into an Oakley M-Frame – and vice versa. If in doubt, please specify the model name and eyewear generation; we will help you find the right match.

RX Clip Adapter – ballistic safety glasses for spectacle wearers

Prescription lenses in day-to-day service are a real problem. Contact lenses in dusty and windy conditions are not a solution. The RX Clip Adapter from SwissEye – available for Raptor, Nighthawk, Tomcat and G-Tac – is fitted with lenses to your prescription by an optician and clips directly into the ballistic safety glasses . Minimal weight, polymer construction, no tools required for changing lenses. The outer ballistic lenses remain completely intact – no compromise on the level of protection in accordance with STANAG 2920.

Anti-fog kits – fog has no place in the field

Fogged-up lenses when moving from cold outdoor air into warm vehicles or buildings can be prevented. Anti-fog kits from Oakley, SwissEye and Bollé rely on microfibre wipes with integrated anti-fog treatment or spray solution. The FogStop wipes from SwissEye (pack of 30) and the Bollé Anti-Fog Kit with a 30 ml bottle are ideal for field use, fitting neatly into a magazine pouch. Caring for your glasses after every shift also noticeably extends the scratch resistance of the coating.

Hard cases and transport protection – keeping your eyewear intact on the job

Ballistic safety goggles will not survive unprotected transport in a jacket pocket. Hazard 4 ’s hard cases (Sub-Pod, Mil-Pod) are made of impact-resistant polymer, are zip-sealed and MOLLE-compatible – they can be attached directly to a plate carrier or rucksack . The SwissEye Tactical glasses case is more compact and designed for everyday duty. If you carry several sets of lenses, opt for the Mil-Pod – it offers space for your glasses, spare lenses and an anti-fog cloth all in one pack.

What to look out for when buying safety goggles accessories

• Check model compatibility: Replacement lenses and RX clip-on adaptors are model-specific – specify the goggle model and generation
• Check the protection level: Replacement lenses must have the same ballistic certification as the original (STANAG 2920, EN 166, ANSI Z87.1)
• RX adapters for the optician: The clip-on adapter is not supplied with lenses – have the lenses fitted to your prescription by an optician
• Anti-fog treatment before every use: A single wipe with the FogStop cloth lasts 12–24 hours, depending on the amount of perspiration
• Choose the case size to suit your carrying system: Hazard 4 Mil-Pod for MOLLE integration; SwissEye case for pocket size in everyday duty use
