The PHANTOMLEAF® PYTHON PONCHO G2 conceals more functions than are apparent at first glance: On the one hand, it can be worn like a classic poncho: It can be closed at the sides by means of large, glove-operated buttons.
The top consists of an anatomically cut hood, which can be fixed to the head by means of elastic drawstrings, so that it follows all movements and does not obstruct the view
A face veil that can be stowed in the neck can be attached to optronic equipment by means of a drawstring, without hindering its operation or being blown down by the wind. Its extra-lightweight design allows observation through the face veil. At the same time, the pinhole shadow between the observer and optronics is reduced.
If the poncho is to be used in motion, it can be buttoned up in the center front by means of a button facing inwards (!). This prevents the poncho from getting caught in the vegetation.
If the poncho is to be used to camouflage a stationary precision shooter with a long rifle, a button bar can be opened in the front center through which the scope comes up. This can then be camouflaged with the face veil as described above. The poncho can also be fixed to the front of the long gun by means of a loop. If the side heads are now opened, the poncho covers the complete shooter, the long gun and all shadow casts.
Similarly, unbuttoned, it can function as a quick camouflage tarp or tarp. Furthermore, several ponchos can be connected together by means of the buttons to create a larger camouflage tarp.
All outer edges including the hood are extra contour-breaking due to the scalloped edge, which minimizes telltale cast shadows.
As with the entire PYTHON series, all cordlestoppers can be operated one-handed, with gloves on to tighten and widen. They can also be easily replaced if damaged.
Rolled up, the poncho can be easily transported in a compressed form in the hood.
The next generation G2 is characterized by the fact that it is equipped with a specially developed slit band. This slit tape is designed to provide very tear-resistant pick-up points for the 3D elements (PHANTOMLEAF® PYTHON LEAVES leaf imitations #430180) at the correct distance and angle to the base article on the one hand - but on the other hand to minimize entanglement in vegetation.

Especially for the needs of special forces PHANTOMLEAF® has developed a new type of net material: The PYTHON product line. Target points were:
- Complete camouflage in the visual range and near-infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Reduced gloss and low noise.
- Inherently flame retardant.
- Very tear resistant and tightly woven: less entanglement in thorns and barrier to vectors (disease-carrying creatures).
- At the same time extra light and small in pack size.
- Low water absorption and quick drying.

As a result, the object to be camouflaged is much more difficult to detect from close to distant distances, against a variety of backgrounds such as grass, dry branches, leaves in different colors and brightnesses of an operational area (see camouflage pattern zones below). This greatly expands the user's scope of action.
PHANTOMLEAF® has developed a consistently modular system of camouflage schemes that are coordinated with each other and with worldwide use:
WASP II in color variant Z2 (low growth) for regions with low-growing vegetation, such as grassland and scrubland, and in places rock and scree.
WASP II in color variant Z3A (high growth without snow cover) for use in areas with high vegetation, such as deciduous and coniferous forest but also tropical jungle with a high adaptability for border areas, such as scrub and agricultural land or grass zones.
WASP II in color variant Z3b (high growth with snow cover) for application in regions with vegetation and rock and an interrupted snow cover.
