The large, easy to pack main compartment and the comfort of the external steel frame make the 339 backpack a great choice for longer trips. A classic model from the 1950s, only the materials have been updated over the years, but the design has remained the same. True to the Savotta motto - what's good stays good.
100% cotton (paraffin-treated); webbing: polyamide; frame: Steel
The Savotta 339 is based on 1950s design and is made of paraffin-treated cotton and an external steel frame. The main compartment is closed by tightening the drawstring opening, which is covered with a flap that can be secured with straps. The straps are long enough to secure, for example, a rolled sleeping mat or blanket under the flap. The contents of the main compartment can also be quickly accessed via the small side zipper on the right side of the opening. As a special feature, there are cords on the sides of the backpack that can be used to compress the 329. Additional gear can also be stowed behind the side cords, such as an axe. The side pockets are ideal for packing large thermoses and other bulky, long gear.
The supportive carrying system consists of a tubular steel frame for optimum carrying comfort. The back length is infinitely adjustable to fit users of different heights. The upper back sits against stretched mesh and the lower back in turn against a strap saddle: these prevent the backpack itself from touching the back for the most part, resulting in less sweating. The shoulder straps are wide and padded, and a buckled sternum strap provides additional support
