Beschreibung
swords to Plowshares" - Fountain pen project with discarded service pistols as a symbol of peaceful, non-violent coexistence.

The partial quotation from the Bible "Swords to Plowshares" is one of the most authoritative images of peace in world history. Based on the original biblical quotation, this phrase can be found again and again in historical, literary and political history supporting disarmament initiatives and peace movements.
The image of nations forging their swords into plowshares is an image of peace and disarmament. It corresponds to the Old Testament call to turn a weapon into a device for sustaining life. Instead of being able to kill with one blow, the plow digs up stony ground of the commonly inhabited earth and makes it fertile.
Disarmament and non-proliferation of firearms also occupy a high place in German foreign and security policy, which the state of Lower Saxony also supports to a great extent. With this project, the state of Lower Saxony wants to set a symbol for peace and worldwide disarmament: Every year, the Lower Saxony Police Department discards service pistols that are either irreparable or economically impossible to repair. Instead of selling these no longer needed service pistols on the free market, they are melted down. Out of conviction, the Lower Saxony Police does not want to contribute to increasing the number of weapons in private households

In 2018, the idea was born to symbolically produce a one-off fountain pen that sends a signal against the proliferation of firearms, supports disarmament and stands for non-violent, peaceful coexistence
The fountain pen is strictly limited to 1000 pieces. Each fountain pen is engraved with the fountain pen serial number and the service pistol serial number. The filler also comes in the original Heckler & Koch P2000 gun case with the original associated serial number of the filler and service pistol. This makes each fountain pen absolutely unique. The design of the filler is based on the appearance of the Heckler & Koch P2000 service pistols and receives recognizable elements. The open ear on the market for this socially critical topic as well as the responsible and conscious handling of it made the realization possible in the first place. Thus, the state of Lower Saxony as patron is also a little proud to have found so much approval. In addition, with every fountain pen sold, a donation is made to a victim protection association that works to help victims of crime and to prevent criminal acts. The project thus not only symbolically stands for a gun-free, violence-free society, but also actively supports direct victim assistance
