Woolpower 200, 400 and 600 – The weight system

Woolpower organises its range according to fabric weight in grams per square metre – with one special feature: the entry-level range is not called 200, but LITE. The Woolpower LITE range is a flat-knit fabric without the typical terry loops, weighing approx. 170 g/m² – the ideal summer base layer or the perfect choice for those who find wool too warm against their skin. Woolpower 200 is the classic base layer for the cooler months: thin, suitable for wearing directly against the skin, and ideal for physical activity. Woolpower 400 is the all-round system – warm enough for serious cold, technically a mid-layer worn over the 200, but also suitable for wearing directly against the skin thanks to the soft terry loops on the inside. The best-selling system, from KSK soldiers to forestry workers. Woolpower 600 is the arctic mid-layer variant: maximum warmth, worn over the 200 base layer for temperatures well below zero. For socks, the system even goes up to 800 g/m² – anyone wearing the 800-series socks will need half a shoe size larger, but is guaranteed never to feel the cold again.

Socks – The brand’s flagship product

Woolpower socks are the brand’s best-selling product. The Woolpower 400 Classic socks are the all-rounder for winter, off-road and duty – long enough for high boot shafts, warm enough for serious cold. Woolpower Socks 400 Expedition are the reinforced version with flat-knit zones on the heel, toe and Achilles area. The Woolpower Socks 200 are the lighter version for moderate temperatures and physically demanding activities. All models are knitted using the circular knitting method without any annoying longitudinal seams – a detail that is by no means irrelevant on long marches.

Underwear, jumpers, zip-up turtlenecks and hats

Woolpower base layers cover the entire layering system. The Woolpower Zip Turtleneck 200 and the Woolpower Zip Turtleneck 400 – featuring a short zip at the neckline and a longer back that stays in place even when moving – are the classic base layers for military and outdoor use. This is justified by the ‘Made in Sweden’ production, mulesing-free wool from Patagonia and Uruguay, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, and a detail that describes the manufacturing philosophy better than any marketing promise: Every single garment is sewn by a single person from start to finish and bears a sewn-in label bearing the name of that seamstress or tailor.
