The ASP Training Tri-Folds are identical to the standard Tri-Fold disposable handcuffs in terms of material, construction and function, but they are designed to be released and removed without cutting. This speeds up the pace of instruction, increases safety and eliminates wastage of used materials.
As the name suggests, the straps of the lightweight ASP Tri-Fold disposable holder are collapsible in three places for ultra-compact storage on a belt or vest. When deployed, they offer wide open loops for quick and easy application. They are ideal for crowd control, military use, aviation security and other situations where traditional handcuffs are not practical or desirable. The tri-fold handcuffs are extra wide, with smooth edges for security and are guided by a fully enclosed ratchet block with a spacer disk guard to prevent tugging. Tightening the handcuffs is quick and positive, either with the included molded ring or an optional extra-long pull cord. Once tightened, squeezing the secondary push lock buttons provides additional security. The latest generation of Tri-Folds contains a new polymer formulation - perfected after over a hundred prototypes - that will not dry out or become brittle, increasing strength and extending shelf life.
