The Extrema Ratio® Tripod is designed to increase the level of security at objects and check points. It is used to stop vehicles and is more effective, easier and faster to erect and dismantle than conventional barrier elements, such as those made of concrete.
The model was the classic tank barrier, the so-called "Czech hedgehog". In the past, this classic object was usually difficult to transport and install. That is why Extrema Ratio® has made some innovations to make it easier to transport and assemble: The tripod can be completely disassembled. It is disassembled with a length of 105 cm and a weight of only 25 kg both space-saving in the vehicle and easily transportable by people via a shoulder strap provided. It consists of three H-beams made of extra hardened aluminum, which can be connected together with steel bolts within a few minutes. If required, the tripods can also be anchored to the ground with ground nails or connected with chains
For the security of control bodies at mobile checkpoints, the use of multiple, chain-connected, barriers creates an absolutely destructive obstacle for any approaching vehicle, which is forced to slow down and drive around the tripod barriers
An approaching vehicle that does not stop is a clear threat. The Extrema Ratio Tripod Barrier(s) impede the vehicle so effectively that it is brought to a stop and allows for intervention by safety agencies
The driver of the vehicle essentially recognizes the Tripod barrier as an insurmountable and destructive obstacle.
Thus, the preventive aspect with this device is a weighty argument for its use.
The acceptable weight and ease of installation make it a workable tool in all situations where it is not possible to use heavy machinery that would normally be required to install such barriers.
