Nexus Level IIIa soft ballistics are manufactured in the UK using SB51 Dyneema with a basis weight of 5.3 kg/m2. The Nexus inserts are NIJ Level IIIa approved and have a V-50 fragmentation rate of more than 630 meters per second (630 m / s). This means that the Nexus Level IIIa soft ballistics is capable of stopping 9mm pistol and 9mm sub (e.g. MP5) at higher velocity. Furthermore, even in addition to .357 SIG and .44 Mag. The quality and protective performance of Dyneema is not affected by moisture. However, all inserts are heat sealed in a protective cover for added water repellency and protection from sunlight.

NIJ Level IIIa (NIJ 0101.06) protection rating provides balanced protection against the following calibers:

6 hits .357 SIG with 448 m/s.

6 hits .44 Mag SJHP with 436m/s.
