Beschreibung
The Tatonka Euro Wallet is a fold-out wallet with many compartments and integrated readout protection. RFID technology is on the rise: Electronically stored data on RFID chips, which are built into credit cards, cell phones or ID cards, for example, are read quickly and contact-free with the help of near-field technology. But this also awakens criminal energies, which is why documents and devices equipped in this way should be protected. The Euro Wallet has enough space for banknotes, business cards and credit cards. And there is of course a separate zippered compartment for small change.

What does RFID mean?
RFID is the abbreviation for Radio Frequency Identifi cation. Radio technology allows data to be transferred contactlessly and without visual contact from a data carrier, known as a transponder or tag, to an RFID reader (and vice versa if necessary). The transponder is electronically programmed with unique data (silicon chip).
The RFID reader decodes the data stored in the transponder and, depending on the application, communicates it to a higher-level host system. The "read only" version of the RFID chip is increasingly being installed on cards and IDs and facilitates payment and control processes, for example.

What are the dangers of the RFID chip?
RFID chips can be read at remarkable speed using an appropriate reader. Neither touch nor visual contact is required, and the radio waves pass through a wide range of substances and materials. RFID readers are not very large and can be easily organized with the appropriate criminal energy. Then, for example, bank and credit card data can be stolen "in passing.

How can you protect yourself?
Materials that block radio waves - for example aluminum or stainless steel - provide readout protection. Card covers made of these materials - and purses, document bags and handbags in which a protective film is built in - provide reliable protection against unwanted reading.

Tatonka processes a CRYPTALLOY® film in all its RFID block products. This offers maximum shielding on all relevant RFID frequency ranges (from 100 kHz to 4 GHz, i.e. low frequency range, high frequency range and ultra high frequency range). In addition, the protective foil interferes with "radio traffic" by shifting the frequency. The functionality of the CRYPTALLOY® film has been tested and certified by TÜV Saarland.
The manufacturer of the film, the company Kryptonics Technologies Munich, has now confirmed and certified the mandatory processing of the film in all RFID block products to Tasmanian Tiger. Tatonka's RFID Block series wallets, document cases and bags have been proven to offer 100% protection against data theft by radio-based readers.
