Extrema Ratio E.C.M. (Einsatzkommando Cobra knife) is a multi-purpose fixed blade knife designed for use in the renowned special unit "Einsatzkommando Cobra" of the Austrian police. Extrema Ratio E.C.M. combines the features of a useful tool with those of a reliable blade in a compact configuration with a total weight of 240g. The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 58 HRC, 116 mm long, 5 mm thick and flat ground. The profile of the blade is of the modified Spearpoint type, with a false counter thread &fraq34; in length on the back and a lower guard to protect the hand during use. Both the guard and the knob have holes to facilitate the attachment of the knife to various tools or the passage of laces. The blade has a surface coating of carbon-based DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon), which protects it against abrasion and chemical stress. For the handle, instead of the usual Forprene, the more powerful and highly resistant G10 material was used. It is attached to the tang with two through bolts and retains all the well-known ergonomic features of Extrema Ratio handles. Since this is a knife designed for professional applications, great emphasis has been placed on easy portability, accessibility and quick extraction. The polymer sheath is adaptable and can be attached to the belt or MOLLE platforms such as plate carriers, tactical vests or battle belts with the two PALS attachments.
