The GPSMAP 66i complies with the military standard MIL-STD-810G. This means that extreme heat but also cold, temperature shocks, dust, moisture, immersion, shocks and impacts can do little harm to the Garmin. The 3" color display remains easy to read in all weather conditions - and the buttons can be operated even with thick gloves. If you're out for a long time, you can activate Expedition mode and get up to 200 hours of battery life out of it when using inReach technology - more than a week. In standard tracking mode, the battery lasts up to 35 hours. It does this by saving the position every 10 minutes.
