Patented red/black north-south lines in the base of the capsule make it easy and safe to set down. Base plate with curved rear end has magnifying lens for precise charting and template holes for star and control markings on front. The scale slide at the top is the compass is removable. The included catch strap with scales makes it easy to quickly assess your route or plan your route in advance.
