The Silva Expedition features an easy-to-use Dryflex™ housing, silicone rubber feet for precise map work, a removable safety strap, luminous markers, a magnifying lens, a clinometer for measuring tilt angle, and map scales in mm or inches. 1 : 25,000, 1: 50,000, and GPS scales, as well as built-in magnetic declination adjustment capabilities (including permanent local adjustment). The expedition can also be mapped at 1: 40,000 scale. The scale catch strap has two scales; 1:25,000 and 1:50,000, allowing you to measure the distance of your hike. Because it is soft and pliable, you can easily place the catch strap directly on your route on the map.
